Sorry for the late reply as my internet, TV, Phones were all out due to a major cut in the lines in our subdivision. All the lines are underground utilities. We are having major roadway construction due to new gas lines being buried. Anyhow give it a try with all veggies and hope it works for you.

Hi Sam . Thank you for your testimony on this subject. I am familiar with the Forks over Knifes book. I am on a low fat diet and I may have chicken , oe fish , twice a week. My numbers are really good. I also take a statin. I'm thinking of a doing a month of vegs, just to see how my body does . I'm undecided right now . Hope all is well with you.

Johnny,
I went solely plant based diet Jan 7, 2018. It did bring down the LDL a lot but not enough. I got it down to 119 and Cardio wanted 70 or lower. But it did come with a cost. I had low B12, and had to start supplementing with 1,000mcg daily. I lost probably too much weight, I went from 165 to 144 in 9 months. Problem was it wasn't just Fat but also muscle. I did exercise and ensured I got protein but not sure if it is the right kind. Also I have slight anemia but can't say it was from plant-based. Once I found out that diet alone wasn't bringing my numbers down enough (genetics probably) I started adding 2 servings of fish per week. In July 2021 I started Repatha but the side effects after one year was too much for me. I quit Repatha June 2, 2022 (last dose). It brought my LDL down to 88. Still not where Cardio wants me. The one side effect that I couldn't tolerate was GI nature. It got so bad that I went to the ER fearing bowel obstruction. CT scans didn't show it but did show a hernia behind my liver (small) and not causing any issues. I was informed that straining can cause the hernia I got. Can't prove it was the Repatha, but after every injection (2 weeks) I wasn't doing well in the regularity department so I really feel it was the culprit. Oh, haven't done well with any of the statins. But everybody is different so give it a go. Steer clear of saturated fats, oils, and a good diet that I followed was Forks over Knives. They have a lot of great recipes to keep you on track. Amazon sells the book's.

Would like to have all that it takes to go all plant-based. Such a huge change… I don’t know anyone personally on one.

Pure plant will go a long way. I think genetics do play a part, tho’.
