Since My Cardiac Event, I Find I Get Very Emotional Listening To Music. Has Anyone Else Been Experiencing This?

This will improve and if not talk to your cardiologist. Apparently this is in part due to the chemical changes in the body from a cardiac event and also the trauma from the event. You went through a major flight or fight response. It took a long time for me not to be "jumpy" all the time and anxious. Do things that help to calm you and that you enjoy and hang in there. I still can't watch really sad movies without getting overly emotional. And music (sound) is so primeval. Unborn babies hear sound so clearly they are now discovering they cry with the accent of their native tongue once they are born.

We are all human! I started journaling and yoga which I never would have considered as it just wasn't "manly". I'm over that and love both. Stay strong and enjoy your weekend.

Thank you for the prayers. I will take all of the prayers sent. I will keep you in prayer as well. You would probably be suprised at how many women also "John Wayne" it and I am one of those as well. As caregivers we have to be strong or can't do our jobs although I think we pick those jobs because it suits our personalities and then the jobs reinforce it. Anyway, peace dear, and let me know how you are getting along. I am fortunate to have a friend or two I can talk to although I also have a therapist I know and I journal which was a lifesaver during COVID because I didn't stop working either and there was no time to deal with it all. Take care.
