Overview
Entresto is a prescription drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reduce the risk of hospitalization and death in people with chronic heart failure and reduced ejection fraction. Entresto is a combination drug composed of Sacubitril and Valsartan.

Sacubitril is neprilysin inhibitor. Sacubitril is believed to work by increasing the level of some substances that help protect the vascular system. Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Valsartan is believed to work by relaxing the blood vessels.

How do I take it?
Entresto is taken twice daily.

Entresto comes in tablet form.

Side effects
The FDA-approved label for Entresto lists common side effects including cough, dizziness, low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance, and kidney failure.

Rare but serious side effects listed for Entresto include angioedema (severe swelling), impaired kidney function, and fetal toxicity.
