Dr. O’Brien-Podulka began her career as a nurse in the cardiac intensive care unit at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital while finishing a Master of Science in nursing as a family nurse practitioner. She worked in preadmission testing for the anesthesia department and later served in cardiology as a nurse practitioner. Dr. O’Brien-Podulka expanded her expertise by obtaining a post-master’s certification in adult and gerontology acute care from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, she holds dual certifications as a family nurse practitioner and acute care nurse practitioner. Over the last decade, Dr. O’Brien-Podulka has specialized in structural heart disease, serving as a valvular heart disease nurse practitioner and coordinator at Jefferson Einstein Hospital and Jefferson Montgomery Hospital.
