Mitral and tricuspid valve regurgitation are conditions where the respective valves do not close properly, causing blood to flow backward. The mitral valve allows blood to flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle, while the tricuspid valve allows blood to flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle.

Mitral valve regurgitation can cause symptoms like:
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Irregular heartbeat

Tricuspid valve regurgitation can lead to:
- Swelling in the abdomen or legs

If severe, these conditions may require surgical intervention to repair or replace the valves.
