Deciding to get a pacemaker or defibrillator can be challenging, especially considering the anxiety it might bring. Here are some key points from the knowledge base to help you:

- Benefits:
- Pacemakers can treat symptoms of arrhythmia and enable a more active lifestyle.
- They help maintain a normal heart rhythm by emitting electrical signals.
- Defibrillators control life-threatening arrhythmias and prevent sudden cardiac arrest.

- Some people experience discomfort or trouble sleeping after implantation.
- Discuss any concerns with your cardiologist, who can provide tailored advice based on your medical history and lifestyle.

Ultimately, the decision should be made in consultation with your healthcare provider, weighing the potential benefits against the anxiety it may cause.
