I was on warfarin early on with my heart disease (yes it was a pain in the butt )in 2001 I had a mitral valve repair.then I asked my Dr if I could switch to Xarelto. Then I was on eliquise for a long time. When I head about the watchmen, I was eligible and had it done. While on those 2 no more poking to get my INR..Now I am on plavix and a baby aspirin for a bit and only be on plavix. A lot of people stay on warfarin because it’s the cheapest of them all, My feelings are you gotta do what you gotta do!! Have a blessed week stay healthy and safe🙏🙏

The Watchman device is a tiny pouch implanted in the heart to trap blood clots that may form in the left atrial appendage. It is appropriate for people whose atrial fibrillation (AFib) is nonvalvular, meaning it does not involve heart valves. The device is considered as effective as some blood thinners and may be an option for those who cannot take blood thinners. It is inserted through a catheter in a vein near the groin. Risks include misplacement of the device, a buildup of blood in the heart, and stroke.
