Anyone Been Diagnosed With A LBBB (left Bundle Branch Blockage?)

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
York, PA

How does LBBB contribute to heart disease? I was told I have LBBB in 2012 following a heart Cath. No one told me anything about it except that I may have had it from birth. I was never treated until June 2023 when I made an emergency trip to the hospital.

Good luck with the EP doctor in January. That is the doctor who really knows the electrical system. I love my EP doctor he has really made a difference in my life and I hope yours will too. Hugs

My EP doctor did my successful Ablation. He and staff were great, good at both scheduling and juggling hospital space. I had other issues that delayed this procedure and led to my getting a new cardiologist. In retrospect I would have gone to this doctor, told him I was ready to go and would do whatever necessary, he would have kept me in my original slot. I’m feeling great and drug free.

This is how one hospital puts it "Left bundle branch block is a conduction abnormality in the heart that can be seen on an electrocardiogram. In this condition, activation of the left ventricle of the heart is delayed, which causes the left ventricle to contract later than the right... so when your heart beats the left ventricle (which deploys the oxygenated blood to the body is delayed or out of sync... Due to some electrical issue... when the heart beats it fires in a way that sequences the movement of the blood between each chamber of the heart and valves with a tiny delay its a sort of non issue, but the longer the delay takes the more the function of the blood going to the lungs and then back though the heart to be pumped out to all the cells in the body, If one chamber is part empty the heart tries to Send MORE blood and in severe cases you have any number of arrhythmias pop up and the blood filters the cell waste ( drops off the good Oxygen and takes out the trash on the way to be dropped off at the filter (kidneys) when those sequences get messed up the kidneys dont filter as well as "normal" and waste water begins to back up (collecting in the feet Lower legs and so on.....) it becomes what they call "Heart Failure" which is a very scary term everyone freaks out BUT one can have HF for years with little issue at all.. your Spironolactone, is primarily used to treat fluid build-up due to heart failure.... and Your Lisinopril is used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and heart attacks. For high blood pressure it is usually a first-line treatment. again heart failure is fluid build up because The Heart is getting out of sync and not working at 100% efficiency, The Baby aspirin help to think the blood although How much it thins is another answer they Might decide you need an anticoagulant ( which get quite pricey and Insurance doesn't like the cost at all I have all of these things as well, Add in How it affects My Afib ( which is the arrhythmia) It drove me into I have only recently had it suggested I have LBBB I have enough other things going wrong The Imaging department wants me to donate a couple MRI's I have been there so many times ..lol MY Last Echo of my legs the fellow who did the scan had come to the hospital from one in NYC was here 3 days when asked to come in meet me and look at both the bilateral scan of my legs (aneurysms) as well as they also looked at my aortic repair which was 6 months old at that time... 2009 vs 2022 lol hows that for continuity of service
