How Serious Are PVCs And PACs?

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Madawaska, ME

I have been doing both PVCs & PACs for a couple of years now, but in the past 6 months or so they have become very frequent and severe. 09/30/2023 went to hospital ER they were so severe/extreme! There is no other illnesses that contributed to this. My PCP has me on Diltiazem 60mg twice daily. But still having PVC/PAC issues. How concerned should I be? Should I be seen by a cardiologist instead of my PCP?

Deborah, Usually they are not a problem. It really depends on how many you have and if they lead to AF, flutter, or some other arrhythmia. I have them all the time. They are annoying but not dangerous. I am able to keep the number I have in control by taking magnesium. Talk to your doctor about yours and ask if maybe they think that would help you. I posted a video on this subject. If you have time you might listen. Hugs https://www.myheartdiseaseteam.com/questions/64...
