I Had Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery 3 Weeks Ago And All Of Sudden I Have Heart Flutters. At First They Were Running My Heart Rate High

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Stockton, CA

I had aortic valve replacement surgery 3 weeks ago and all of sudden I have heart flutters. At first they were running my heart rate high now they are running low in the 40s and back up to 70. Just really seems so strange because I can't get comfortable. Has anyone experienced something similar. They also changes my metropol heart rate meds to 25mg x3 instead of 25mg x2 a day.

I am so glad that you were able to get into the hospital and they figured out what was wrong. I am so glad that you are feeling a bit better. I know how scary your heart going that fast is. That is my main problem. I can understand it freakin you out. It is not pleasant and you really can't do much of anything when you are in that kind of Tachycardia. I am pleased that you are feeling better and that you will figure it all out. We are here when you need us. Hugs 🤗

I was admitted in the hospital after having 150 bpm for more than 45 minutes. I started having blurred vision and confusion. So my heart rate was all over the place for the rest of the day. Now I'm being observed and my cardiologist is changing my medication. I just hope my heart calms because it freaks me out. Since Wednesday I've been in and out of the hospital 4 times because my cardiologist is in the hospital all week and he is the only one able to tweak my medication. So I'm doing fine and feeling confident. Thank you for all the support!!! This group has helped me more than ever! Knowing I'm not alone helps!

I would call the doctor just to make sure this is not a problem. Keep us posted on what they say and how you are feeling. Hugs🤗
