A headache is not an aspirin deficiency.

I feel we focus too much on symptoms and not the root cause. Over specialization often misses related issues or problems caused in other areas. In addition to my heart issues I had a kidney problem no doctor recognized. Probably not connected but it delayed my heart procedure possibly allowing more damage.

I started getting blood in my urine while taking Eliquis. My cardiologist ignored these concerns and proposed more testing looking for blockage. My PC doc confirmed it was blood so I stopped taking Eliquis and the blood cleared in 3 days. When I told my cardio doc he said I must be on blood thinners to get an ablation. This got the doctors talking and me an appointment with a urologist. After scans and a camera up my bladder I was cleared for the ablation. No one found the cause of the bleeding or showed concern. Back on Eliquis and blood. I didn’t say anything until after my procedure. I did some internet searching and figured kidneys was the next stop. The week after ablation I looked up symptoms of kidney stones and got my PC doc to schedule a scan which showed a stone in each kidney. I scheduled a procedure and had them blasted.

My PC doc is great and quickly handled each issue I brought, but, no coordination. My EP doc was great but wasn’t in the lead until I terminated my cardio obstructionist. With all these docs not one showed concern they hadn’t found the bleeding cause or asked if it resumed. No one suggested if it wasn’t the bladder perhaps we should look at the kidneys.

It all worked out well. Perhaps it was my responsibility to tell my group the blood was back but at that point I wasn’t going to risk another delay. I moved almost 6 years ago and my longest tenure was with my PC doc only for well visits. I’m sure we will have more trust and better communication when I have another issue.

I broke my back 2 years ago I shattered L1 told me I’d be paralyzed. Be your own advocate . I had no surgery I told them God woukd heal me Dr shook his head and walked away .Today I walk had no surgery not paralyzed. God is good ✝️💕

Agree with everyone. You have to be your own advocate. Sometimes that is difficult when your not feeling well yourself or do not have a medical knowledge base or the information conflicting, too technical, etc. Grateful to find this group. Learning so much here and others have been generous in answering questions, addressing concerns and offering hugs. On a different note, awful the doctors didn’t pick up the possibility of kidney stones with blood in urine. I say this because at my husband’s annual physical the labs showed trace blood in his urine. PCP referred to urologist and he had the sonic blasting of the stones. So stones causing blood in urine not a rare occurrence.

When your in CHF it can effect your kidneys especially the meds . I was in kidney failure due to Xeralto . Thru put an amulet into the aorta ( like a watchmen) now that’s not healing ? Put me on Entresto brought my kidney number 55 down to 37 .at 15 your in dialysis .so yes heart and kidneys go together 💕
