I had an up close and personal relationship with a boy friend who was a hot reactor. Swedish Hospital, Denver, Colorado had a clinic for Hot Reactors (Heart Department). He was in the process of logging his blood pressure and heart rate to determine blood pressure medication. After a heated argument we had, he insisted we both test our blood pressure and heart rate. His blood pressure and heart rate increased significantly, mine did not! I knew that mine would not from years of previous experience and
testing. My belief , based on experience, is that some people are “hot reactors”.

Great reaction and article. Mind/Body interactions are highly individualized. When I had my first of 7 bi-lateral knee surgeries the surgeon asked how I walked into his office. Some have higher tolerance and higher trigger levels or is that the "hot reactor" level? I like to think I'm pretty calm BUT been told when I get to a certain level people become fearful. My first divorce left me confused and seeing a psychologist, when the X sent me a note pad "I got married [date]" I cancelled the visit. He called my X concerned if I had a gun and might kill myself. She told him "yes" he has a gun but he'd kill me before himself. Our thoughts affect our bodies and our bodies affect our health! 😎
