I was fortunate my primary care doctor referred me to a cardiologist as a matter of Cours… My philosophy is it is my body and I want to know what is going on and I went without a referral and paid $60 to get a coronary artery scan at the hospital, so I knew exactly what was going on With my heart, my cardiologist was surprised I did that without his suggestion! I always do my own research looking at labs, etc. If my primary care doctor had not referred me to a cardiologist or if I thought my cardiologist was not being thorough enough I would send him a message in print, asking his thoughts on getting test, specific test done. It is always a good idea to have questions put into print and sent to the doctor so it is on record.

What is her diagnosis of You? Can you just make an appointment with A Cardiologist or does She have to do it for you? My husband has been seeing a Primary Care Dr. since he moved to Georgia! I have never been a fan but finally Carl wound up in the E/R with Anemia, a UTI and a weightloss of 50 lbs! By going to the E/R he had a new Primary Care Internist who started running a million blood tests and CT Scans! I’ll attempt to make a long story short but He has now been diagnosed with Metastatic Prostate Cancer that has invaded his bones and lungs ! Go to the E/R! And You will get a referral to a Cardiologist! I Wish you the Best! Good Luck JS2!!❤️❤️❤️

You can approach your primary care doctor with your concern by saying something like, "Do you think I need to see a cardiologist for a more specialized opinion on my heart condition?" This way, you are respectfully asking for their professional advice while expressing your interest in consulting a heart specialist.
