In The Past, 1990s, I Was A Apheresis Donner. Could I Donate Again & DC Xarelto?
Xarelto 20 Mg, 1 X daily. I've suspended for dental exams or surgeries with no adverse reactions. Could I resume platelets donation in place of Xarelto with Dr. approval? Opinions please?
Hi JimJenkins,
That you will have to find out from your doctor. I was a donor with the Red Cross and have a gold donors card. I keep that on me at all times as I was told by the Red Cross because I have a rare blood type.
I was stopped from giving when I began taking calcium channel beta blocker. But they don't take blood from some one on blood thinners.

If you are currently taking Xarelto (Rivaroxaban), it is important to consult with your healthcare provider before considering donating blood or plasma. Xarelto is an anticoagulant, or blood thinner, which can increase the risk of bleeding. Your healthcare provider can give you personalized advice based on your medical Show Full Answer
, RobinHodgesPetruchyk2, BridgetteBracken. Thank-you both for the information, I appreciate it. I had a appointment for a "second opinion" today concerning a "massive" ventral hernia DIAGNOSED by two separate Nurse Practitioners.The CRNP today took one look and said,“Diastasis recti” means your belly sticks out because the space between your left and right belly muscles has widened. You might call it a “pooch.” The Surgeon confirmed. All CRNP s are not trained the same just as all Doctors aren't. Further reading on dos and don'ts with the condition prove gym memberships and trainers can cause severe damage if they don't know what they are doing. The same thing for Doctors who write a script, give you a bill and tell you call if you have a problem, see you in a year?

That should read 13 and a half years and not analyzing, "AI" is changing what we're writing and if you hit send to quickly it will change what you wrote. It is supposed to be a smart system but it's making the world look stupid.

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member,
For you to have a procedure is different then giving blood. Your stopping for four days is to ensure you have no excessive bleeding. That is a big difference in your not bleeding and a person who's loss blood and it has to be built up. I have a very rare blood type and for them to do dental surgery I had to be hospitalized for 7 days and a heparin IV added to the mix. I just had a cardiac cath done yesterday and I was told to make sure I took my Plavix and aspirin. My blood is super thick and I don't free bleed. My INR is in the high range of normal and no where near that of some one taking aspirin and Plavix, let alone some one who's been taking both for 13 and analyzing years. In order for you to give blood to someone you would need to come off your medication for 3 to 4 months and have it checked to make sure it's clear. I don't think any cardiologist in his right mind would allow that.
