turmeric will do the same with no side effects, I have been off my chronic medication now for 3 years and 3 months feeling a million times better than on any tablet my meds just kept getting more expensive. see my profile

The only side effect I have is bruising and prolonged bleeding from minor cuts. I will take that any day that helps to prevent a stroke

I had been on Eliquis and yes, it is very expensive. I had terrible nose bleeds while on it and after my second time in the ER, they told me that my first one was the worst they had seen. I was there 3 hours. After my 4th bleed I was sent to an ENT who fixed my nose where there was a close to the surface vein. No bleeds since.

Been on Eliquis for 4 1/2 years now. No problems other than bruising pretty easy and when I cut myself I bleed longer. I take 5mg B.I.D.

Goldengal, personally no major side effects of the Eliquis 5mg twice a day, however I do find myself bruising much easier and bleeding is a real pain. I work a lot outside and woodworking and I love to cook, gourmet style so I'm working with scalples working with plants, knives with cooking, numerous tools all of the time and I do cut myself frequently. Something I have learned to live with and I know what to do and when. Usually nothing a little super glue can't handle.
