I started wearing a FitBit watch the year before Afib so I know the day it started and ended. During daily episodes my pulse could vary from 35 to 135, blood pressure as high as 135/ 85 and I would frequently skip a beat. I wore. Monitor for 2 weeks as part of medical testing. It showed me in Afib 50% of the time. Hard to believe but confirmed by regularly taking my pulse. Afib can lead to stroke so thinners are generally prescribed.

Heart palpitations, where your heart feels like it's skipping a beat or beating very fast, can be a symptom of heart failure. Here are some possible reasons:

- Increased Heart Rate: Your heart may be trying to keep up with your body's needs, causing it to pump faster. This can lead to an irregular heartbeat.
- Arrhythmia: Conditions like atrial fibrillation (AFib) can cause irregular heart rhythms.

It's important to monitor your heart rate daily and note any changes. A normal resting heart rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute (BPM). If your heart rate exceeds 100 BPM, it is called tachycardia.

Advice:
- Record Your Heart Rate: Keep a daily log of your heart rate.
- Consult Your Doctor: If you experience frequent palpitations or a rapid heart rate, contact your healthcare provider.
- Emergency Signs: If you feel chest pain, pressure, or any symptoms of a heart attack, call 911 or emergency services immediately.
