Discuss this with your primary care doctor. There are many options to help you to quit, but nothing will work unless you are seriously committed to quitting. I know this as a former smoker for 40 years. It took a massive heart attack with so many residual complications for me to get it. You will need support and a plan to quit. I urge you to quit and to get help and support.

I know several people that switched to vaping with the stated intent to quit. It’s now been 6 to 7 years and all are still vaping or back on cigarettes. My mother was a journalist and smoker. She often wrote late into the evening. If she ran out of smokes and my father was out, she would load us kids and drive to get more. A big reason I never considered smoking. Both she and my grandfather did eventually quit on their own after the health facts emerged. Quitting is one of the toughest things you will ever do. Both lived into their 90’s in good health.

Go for it,
