Anyone Have Enlarged Heart Muscle Due To Blood Pressure?
I’m so sad right now about this! I just got a cath that was clean and free of blockages but I Still have a bit of chest pain and a lot lot of Shortness of breath! I’m not going to worry about it I will put it on the list of things to talk to the Doc about when I see him in August…but it is very disconcerting and upsetting to know that there is something else going on….
Yes, long-term high blood pressure can cause a condition called dilated cardiomyopathy. This condition leads to the lower chambers of the heart stretching and becoming larger, which weakens the heart and makes it harder to pump blood to other parts of the body. Symptoms can include:
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
