Breath! A Very Common Complaint Here Is Shortness Of Breath. We’ve All Been Breathing All Our Lives But How Much Do You Know About It?

My knowledge is from being an athlete, coach and a master of logic. One heart function is to deliver oxygen and remove carbon dioxide. Seems like the better the breath the lower the heart burden. Slow deep breathing is far more effective than fast shallow breath. As we sit at a desk, couch, bed or car we tend toward shallow breath. Try consciously breathing deeply and make it a habit.

Thanks Cliff, very informative and a greatly beneficial activity/exercise! Several years ago I noticed that when I took a deep breath I would experience a "catch" as I inhaled. Finally had tests including a heart Cath. and A-Fib was diagnosed even though I felt fine. Three different medications and an electrical "paddles" cardio version, no irregular heart beat for over two years. I do breathing exercises very often and sense no indications of any problem. There is so very, very much to learn about heart health a new information is being discovered daily? 😎

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member, are you asking when you will know the Ablation was a success? My electrophysiologist told me that week when I scheduled a follow up. My cardiologist confirmed and told me to discontinue blood thinners at my next appointment 2 weeks after. Now 16 weeks with no Afib feeling like a youthful 50 year old. 😉
