I won't report every surgery I've had but they are multiple and massive all the result of working long hours at physically demanding jobs that wore down my body! Four marriages, present one has lasted longer than the other three combined. I know that I've done too much for too many with no respect or appreciation for the most part. I've been told that I'm my own worst enemy and beat myself up, take blame and responsibility that I shouldn't. A full body MRI showed "UPTAKE" severe arthritisā¦ read more
Hi PamRlede,
Ejection fraction refers to how well your heart pumps blood. It is the amount of blood pumped out of your heart's lower chambers (ventricles) each time it contracts. This is the definition. I hope it helpsš„°
I think we look at our self as A+ health. I think it is hard to accept age and the problems we have. Most are very mobile, out doing things for others living life and do not notice what is going on in our personal lives. Signs are there but we chose to push it aside and to travel the same road we have for years. Hope u have a great Sunday.Kay8š„°

I agree with you Kay8, it was hard for me to accept age and the problems I acquired. I had to research & educate myself on how to get back to a somewhat normal life, and that included, having a positive attitude. Eating more consciously and making sure I get plenty of exercise. These are the actions that took me from where I use to be EF 10% to 55%. to where I am now. Happy Travelling and Enjoying Life.š„°
@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member,
I'm very careful of any procedure they perform on me and will ask very quickly when what they are going became a part of the procedure. The one thing about my hospital that I truly love is the fact that they sent you a link to their medical library so you can see the different ways in which the procedure is done. This way you can ask your doctor any questions about it ahead of time. Here they don't like surprising patients. I had seen both of the surgical procedures for implanting my A-ICD before I met with my Electrophysiologist and he had his computer set for us to go over the information. Because I didn't know if I would survive the procedure I wanted it after Christmas. The day before the procedure I got a call to come in earlier. I thought the procedure would be earlier but my procedure had changed. Instead of them going through the groin they were going through my pocket. I have a number of special problems and they felt that was the best way. It's going to get better my friend, just think positive.
