Arrhythmia can pose additional risks during pregnancy, especially as you approach 40. Here are some considerations based on my knowledge base:

- Increased Heart Strain: Pregnancy increases the workload on your heart, which can exacerbate arrhythmias.
- Monitoring: Close monitoring by your healthcare provider is crucial to manage your heart condition and ensure both your and your baby's health.
- Medication Adjustments: Some medications for arrhythmia may need to be adjusted or changed during pregnancy.
- Lifestyle Modifications: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and avoiding stress, is important.

Always consult with your cardiologist and obstetrician before planning a pregnancy to discuss your specific risks and management plan.

Post birth consideration of the added stress and responsibilities you may consider. Alot of factors to consider. A journey into the unknown. The new child could also help add happiness security and comfort that would benefit your health. Only you know yourself and your living environment. Consult multiple sources before you decide. You know once the child is here theres no reversial to this decion you own that decision forever..

Its commendable that you are being pro-active in this very serious decision. I certainly hope you are successful with whatever decision you chose.

My thinking 🤔 more so is not what the child can do for you rather what can you do provide for them?

Take care high hopes for you .

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member This is the hardest decision to make and never an easy one, The doctors you are going to see can help you decide if this is a choice that makes sense for you. I faced this decision myself in my childbearing years so I understand how torn you are. It depends on what type of arrhythmia you have and what drugs you take if any to treat it. As we age, the risk for arrhythmia increases so only consultation with an OB and EP (electrophysiology) cardiologist can help you to make this decision. Keep us posted on what you decide as it might just help another woman facing these choices. No matter what you decide, we are behind you 100%.
