Does Anyone Have A Persistent Or Permanent Afib? Did It Ever Convert To Normal Sinus Rhythm After A Year Or So?
I have been in continues silent afib since January after my ICD device was replaced, no symptoms except for occasional episodes that I have the symptoms .
I'm turning 83 next January ,am I too old to have ablation.
I normally take supplements: magnesium with collagen, vit C, Omega 3, vit D3, etc. My experience was that once I decided to stop taking supplements for a while; after almost a month I had an electrocardiogram and the doctor told me that I had atrial fibrillation. I started taking magnesium etc. again and a few days later the fibrillation was gone. That has been my experience. Consult your doctor.
My first ablation last fo six years. Jut I another one on Thursday October 24, 2024. It was a very big success. Hopefully it will stay intact for a long time.
I had persistent AFIB for a year before I was finally treated with cardioversion and I am still on sotolol for it; so far it is good. Treatment was almost four years ago.
I have the most mild form of AFIB and when it does occur it usually happens when I sleep. I have been told that it will only get worse; however, since I was diagnosed 3 years ago, it has gotten better (less episodes); however, I know what triggers the AFIB during the day and I make a big effort to avoid the triggers. I am an 80 year old male
I’ve had AFIB for 15 years. (I’m 79). I’ve had 2 cardioversons, ablation, and a pacemaker implant. My EF (Ejection Fraction is below 30). My endurance is compromised. I do an exercise routine designed for seniors every morning at home and go to the gym 6 days a week to ride the recumbent bike. I was recently hospitalized for 8 days with shortness of breath and now doing PT twice a week. (Dispite taking Eliquis blood thinner, my hospitalization was a blood clot in my lungs and in my right lower leg — that should not have occurred when taking Eliquis.). Every day is a gift! Stay well!
