Thankful that I had 10+ years experience with modifying my diet as a result of Type 2 diabetes diagnoses. It helped a lot with the transitions I had to make as a result of my coronary event. Slow & steady wins the race - changing our habits is tough, but NOT impossible. I do what I can every day to adjust to what needs to be done.

Kay8, good sleep is vital for good health and healing a wonky heart. I feel like I sleep too much, so don't get full days, but at least for the fewer hours I have awake, I can enjoy them more, with less fatigue. We all have different needs, so I know when I just have to lie down, sometimes not always predictable ahead.

I had a quadruple bypass in 2016 and have been doing fine ever since. At
the end of December I contracted pneumonia in my left lung. I went to a
Urgent Care facility and was checked out. I was given an antibiotic which
over five days seemed to solve my problem. My cough was the worst issue I
had to deal with. On January first I thought I was ok, but as the day went
I got worse. I returned to the doctor immediately and received a different
antibiotic which was stronger than the fist one. He gave me 5 pills to
take, one before bedtime. I have one more pill to take and I'm feeling much
better. My thought I want to leave with all of you is that getting
pneumonia after having a heart attack does mean your life is over. A rapid
connect with your doctor is absolutely necessary if you are faced with a
situation like I've had. Respond quickly and live to see another day. God
bless you all.

Well, my heart at 64 y,o was very, very bad. I had an enlarged heart, and a bad, leaky aortic valve, and on top of all that, had a aneurysm at 4.8 (size) I didn't want surgery, I have already had since Jan 2024 , back/spine surgery, emergency appendix surgery, right hip replacement and my thyroid out.
I was at the point that I could hardly breathe, couldn't walk for very long, depressed a lot and hiding in my house. Finally, I got so bad and had no choice but to do the open-heart surgery.
I was so scared that I wasn't going to make it,
Had surgery on June 6th, 2024. I went to Kaiser Permanente hospital in Fontana, in California.
Today December 24th, 2024, OMG!!!! I'm totally a different person. I feel like I'm 25 not 65. I can walk normal now & I don't run out of breath, and I am so happy I had the surgery.
If I knew back then when the dr first told to have surgery and I refused, I wish I did it then. They replaced my aortic-heart valve with a cow- valve and they took my aneurysm out also. 1st month was very hard healing, and when I had my post op follow up, they were amazed how well and fast I was healing up. My scar you can barely see today, I walk, work out (and not afraid too now) and I am no longer depressed. I am thankful Dr. Mudge was my surgeon.

I wish I would have taken better care of myself back in the day and didn't do any drugs, and party like I did. But you live and learn, and I would have taken better care of myself.
So, whoever reads this, please take care of your body especially your heart. Without that heart beating, you are nothing, and, dead. Your body is a gift from God, take care of it. It is a beautiful gift from God and so treat it right, eat right and if I did all that that back then, I wouldn't have had to go through so many surgeries, I have one more surgery in Jan 2025 and then I'm done.

Listen, I almost died and now, I live like it's my last day on earth every day.

If you have heart problems, keep on top of your dr visits and treatments, because your heart can go downhill really fast. I am very lucky and blessed. I got a second chance at life. Merry Christmas to and God bless you all.
