What Is A Ventricular Assist Device (VAD Or LVAD) And How Does It Aid Heart Failure Patients? Mayo Clinic Q&A Podcast
This is a little longer video than usual but it is a good one. Today on Medical Monday we take a look at VAD (Ventricular assist device)
Although this device can be placed in the left, right or both ventricles of your heart, it is most frequently used in the left ventricle. When placed in the left ventricle it is called a left ventricular assist device, or LVAD. Jul 21, 2021

I'm Concerned About My Pacemaker.
My cardiologist just told me at my 1 year check-up that the pacemaker is pacing 100% of the time. That's not good - is it? Isn't my heart supposed to be beating and just using the pacemaker part of the time? In 2 weeks, I have to get this pacemaker removed and a biventricular pacemaker installed. It will be bigger and have 3 leads instead of 2 leads. Will this work better with my heart? I'm assuming my doctor is doing this to fix the problem.
@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member Please do. I hope you are not worrying about the procedure. If you are, remember, we are here for you. Hugs🤗
