I Had An Heart Bypass By MIDCAB Has Anyone Else Had That?

My bypass was done by a Mr Birdi (i think he was mr as appose to Dr) by MIDCAB which is minimally invasive. They seperate my ribs on the left side and take the mammary gland artery and fixed my LAD with that. So i only have one real incision in my chest and a couple of drains and nothing on my legs.
They say it is for quicker recovery. It also means not having to wire my chest back up.

Now that I know you had minimally invasive work done, & they used the mammary artery to fix your blockage, I'd say that the feeling of water on your chest (from a previous entry here) is nerve damage from where they "pulled" your mammary artery.
I had a 5 way bypass last year & they tried to use my mammary artery but it was already compromised enough that it couldn't be used. I have nerve damage that reminds me daily about that chest crack. It took a while for me to consider it "normal". Just my 2 cents worth.

It's interesting the different feelings we can have from nerve or trauma damage. Many yrs ago my Mother was in a car accident & had a huge bump/hematoma on her head from trauma. She thought she had something running down her the side of her head but it was internal bleeding at the time. I felt that once myself after trauma from a horse biting my arm. I could feel what I thought was water running down my arm like Mother did with her head. That's how I knew to console her that it was internal & not external running "water" effect.

I hope your nerve damage minimizes as the years wear on. Sometimes it does change for the better.

Thank you Icebera
Was thinking it probably was just wish the feeling wasnt so realistic. Still not as bad as it could be.
