Room temp is best. Goes down easier and less shock to the system.. also add a slice of lemon

Always drink any liquid at room temperature, remember our insides are 98.6 and with heart disease we don't want to give our systems too much of a shock. Learned the hard way, drank two glasses of ice cold water, later I thought I was having a heart attack. Luckily I wasn't but the doctor told me that the shock to my body of the temperature extreme caused esophageal spasms which were similar to heart attack symptoms.

If you have any risk of kidney stones--room temperature water is a must! (I've had them and this was the advice of my Urologist) but I'm not sure about "in general"---drinking lots of water is a good habit in general.
