My Injection Fraction Is Down To 16 Percent In My Heart Failure Is This Bad
my injection fraction is down to 16 percent is this bad?
An ejection fraction (EF) below 40 percent is considered low and may indicate heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) or cardiomyopathy. An EF of 16 percent suggests that the heart's pumping action is significantly weakened, putting you at higher risk for life-threatening complications such as cardiac arrest Show Full Answer
The higher the ejection factor the healthier you will be and feel. Always, always, always, educate yourself with as much information regarding your medical condition as you can. Get healthy, Be healthy, Stay healthy.
I have had my ejection fraction be down as low as 6%, which is definitely not good. Education on every aspect of your condition is the best thing you can do for yourself. Don't just take anyone's word on it, investigate and ask questions, lots of questions. The more you know the better off you'll be.
There are many components to ejection fraction. Educate yourself.
Just my opinion, but you need to get that number up. Mine was 20 when first diagnosed with all of my heart problems and I got it up to 42, after a stent, lots of heart meds and heart physical therapy. I go for another echocardiogram next week and will find out what it is now. Good luck
