Strength training 2-3 times a week, depends on muscle soreness. . 30 Military pushups 6days a wk. kettle bells or walking on days not strength training. Inverted sit-ups on inversion table 2-3 x a wk. . EF is 15%. External Counterpulsation therapy helped immensely.

Last night I walked to the beach, about 15 minutes. I did not have to stop for breathing, and I did not get short of breath. The walk back is slightly uphill the entire walk. Then a flight of stairs into my condo. I was NOT short of breath! WOW! This is a big deal for me. I did not have heart pain and no panting to try to breathe.
I have only been taking the meds for 5 days. Entresto and carvedilol.
WOW! I am so happy!

My understanding about the EF is it depends on what caused the HF. While I was in the hospital and still being worked up for the cause of my "event" my EF was 30 about 3 months later repeat echo showes 65%. Age has some affect. Exercise is very important as well as low sodium.

That IS awesome. Good for you overcoming your fear. Exercise doesnt have to be weight training at a gym unless thats what you like. 20 minutes of cardio is all it takes. So happy and proud of you

I increased my number from 30% to 54% by taking my medications, watching my sodium and walking. I started out walking a mile then worked up to getting five miles a few times. I rarely miss a day of going for a walk and try to do at least 2.5 miles plus I try to keep moving all day. If I need to rest I do it but moving is the key for me.
Good luck!
