By having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
It’s the only way I find peace & get help through all of my depression & anxiety.
If I stray it comes back, so I try to live a life pleasing God. 🙏🏼✝️🙌😍❤️

Wow, what a great list of things you do to take care of yourselves! I wanted to summarize the list for us all so here goes my attempt at distilling your sage advice.

Keep Doctors Appointments
Eat right, Stick to a heart-healthy diet
Take medications on time.
Take vital signs like blood pressure as instructed.
Know your body and listen to it don't try to do things you know you can't
Don't let your disease run your life.
Stay connected spiritually through prayer or meditation daily
Do volunteer work if you can (anyone who answered this has just volunteered to help others with heart disease).
Stay positive
Be kind to yourself (an example given was telling yourself that you are beautiful every day)
Stay as active as possible move around get exercise, walk, dance, swim garden.
Stay connected to Nature, by walking outside or gardening
Stay connected to family and friends, by phone, in person, or online including the friends we have made here on the site.

I will add to this list as others post so we all have a good list of self-care that we can practice. Thanks, everyone for taking the time to answer this question!

First, it's very important to know your body and listen to it. Don't try to do things you can't handle. (That's what got me in trouble in the first place.) That being said, you also can't let your disease run your life. Do whatever you can do to the extent possible. I am still fortunate enough to be able to work and I get satisfaction from that. I am active in my synagogue and frequently lead the prayers. I also do volunteer work. All of these things give me satisfaction.
