New Electrical Doc For My Heart
I got a two lead pacemaker in Oct of 2019. I had to be shocked back in twice, once in February of this year. Decided to go on a diet in May, lost 46 pounds and have not been in afib once. Should I let this doctor work on my heart to keep me from going into afib?? I figured with the weight loss I wouldn’t go into afib again, without messing with my heart. If it ain’t broken, don’t mess with it!!!!! What do you think?? Please give me your feed back.
My advice is yes. Afib is a progressive disease. While you are staying out of Afib now, 5 minutes from now could be different. Changing your diet and losing all that weight (by the way, big congratulations for that accomplishment) definitely helped and AFIB is kind of a pain because you never know when it will happen again. So, my recommendation is to stay under the care of an EP doctor, and hope you continue to stay well. A good doctor will take an if it ain't broke approach. Hugs🤗

You’re doing a good job. I was diagnosed AFIB Mar 2019. Year 2022 , Nov was getting worst and frequent palpitations . I felt heaviness in my chest so my husband called 911. My heart stopped twice few minutes intervals. Got electric shocked twice, CPR and Intubated. I’ll be one year this coming November 2023. So far so good and now my Doctor is closely monitoring me which they never did before. I have appointments scheduled every 2 months. Take care . Blessings to you..
