Anyone Have The On-X Mechanical Heart Valve?

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Baden, PA

Does anyone else out there have the On-X mechanical heart valve specifically? If so I would love to hear about your experience with it. I am still getting used to mine and I have had it 2 years now. I know they mentioned I will notice the ticking. The way I constantly notice every beat is still bothersome to me though and I don't really get any answers as to what exactly most other people experience with one since I don't really know anyone with one.

I Don't Quite Understand "heart Failure".

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Millerton, NY

I was diagnosed with heart failure for the first time almost a year ago but probably had it long before it was diagnosed. After seeing an inept cardiologist for about four years, I changed doctors; the new one ordered a pacemaker, got it July 29, new type, in heart. Started retaining water; Aug. 29 in E.R. for heart failure. Put n all kinds of diuretics, etc., less than two weeks later completely dehydrated, kidney failure. (I had stage 4 already). Lost 60 pounds since then, got my meds cut… read more

Does Anyone Else Feel Like They Cannot Eat Properly?

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Truro, NS

I just can't seem to eat healthy. I know exactly what I should be eating and how much but it's like I don't even care. I survived a heart attack wouldn't you think that I would want to prevent another one if I could. It feels like I don't even care because I'll eat whatever I want to and it's not good. It's like pass the cheesecake in the chocolate now please

I also love Kentucky Fried Chicken but I know it is not good for me. So I remove the skin from my chicken and skip the French fries. Have learned to enjoy baked sweet Potato.Happy Sunday ,
