Am Taking Eliquis With A 2x A Day Recommendation! Due To Cost Issues, Can I Take Eliquis In The AM And Plavix In The PM?
Actually you can use eliquis( anticoagulation) and brilinta (anti platelet) together. My hubby is on it currently. Each both twice a day 1 tab. February is when the brilinta stops and goes to aspirin. Due to stents, blockages and heart attack in Feb 2023. One year regimen for brilinta per doc. Keep in mind, just because it seems to be for hubby, doesn't mean, it's safe for you. Consult doctor.
The short answer is NO. They work differently. Eliquis is anticoagulant medication . Plavix is an antiplatelet medication. Don't mix them. Take the Eliquis and see what anticoagulants your insurance covers and that you can afford the co-pay. Ask the doctor to switch you to that for your next prescription. Pradaxa is the same kind of drug and is now available as a generic (it is off-patent). The generic version is called Dabigatran Etexilate Capsules. Check with your plan to see if that is cheaper for you they are the same type of drug. If so ask the doctor to switch you to that or another drug you can afford. Also, Eliquis is one of the first groups of drugs the government is fighting to lower the price on. Just don't mix Eliquis and Plavix. Hugs🤗
