I have had a silent heart attack when I was 30. At that time I was working taking care of a cerbral palsy girl and at that time it was December 17 1997 I did not know the symtoms at the time but what I can tell you is that I dont ever want to go through that again. I could not sleep at night I felt like that my body was huge and there was even a lady that asked me if I was pregnant because I was waddling. The next day I had a cardilogy appointment and that was when I found out that I had 4 leaky heart valves and that my ef was 3 and I felt like I was dying but God saw fit to keep me around a little while longer. I would be in church listening to the message and all of a sudden I would fall a sleep. That was a scary part for me. On December the 17 it will be 26 years since I had my heart attack. Thank you Lord for your healing everyday.

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member, @A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member, and @A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member Wow, your stories are amazing. This just illustrates how hard it is to diagnose heart vs. lung issues. Maybe before they hand down a diagnosis of Athsma, they should do an EKG to see how our hearts are doing first. I too had CHF and was being treated for Asthma. Once I moved to GA and got diagnosed with CHF and received treatment I started to feel much better. So many things can seem the same. The GP in Jersey thought I had a silent heart attack based on an EKG, he ordered further testing and it turned out to be AFIB and right-side heart block. Testing is the key to getting a good diagnosis. I am glad we are all still around to tell our stories. Hugs to all of you!🤗

I had a silent heart attack. I was in bed one night the upper part of my back was hurting and I wasn’t quite breathing right. I got out of bed that morning and fell on the floor. The fire dept came out and help me get up. They asked if I needed to be checked at the hospital. I didn’t think much about what had happened. I had been feeling really bad that afternoon. So my sister took me to the emergency room they put an EKG on me right away and it showed I had a silent heart attack. That is pretty scary. I had two clogged arteries. So fixed them. My question is how do you not worry about having another one!!!
