Has anyone had the ablation procedure for afib, did it help your afib issues,?

I had an Ablation 6.5 months ago. I was in Afib 50% of the time during the preceding 14 months. Afib and blood thinner free since. I’d pretty much decided to go for Ablation before meeting my first cardiologist. I currently feel great, free of any medication and back to active life. At least for an old man.

My ablation was very helpful at first but about a year later I now have a pace maker and I do not have any more problems.

Goldengal, I have not had an ablation for afib but have had two for aflutter and they have been very successful. If I could have one for AF I would do it in a heartbeat. I have some anatomical issues that prevent a catheter ablation. If your doctor thinks you would benefit from it you are the one who needs to decide. It is an easy procedure and you are home that same day.

I had an ablation at the beginning of my heart issues------am thinking they told it me it didn't work. Will try to find out for sure. And maybe another procedure (called something else ???) was done. Will try to figure out from my paperwork. Good luck with you upcoming one!!!
