Is It Possible To Raise The Ejection Fraction?)
Since I'm not a physician, I can only speak from my personal experience and the answer, in my case, is "yes!" I have rehabilitated my heart from an ejection fraction of LESS THAN 15% (in Feb. 2022) to over 50% in April of this year. I have been the "poster child" for compliance regarding prescribed lifestyle changes including cardiac rehab/fitness, a very low-sodium eating plan, fluid intake management and, of course, take my meds religiously. My heart issues are cardiomyopathy, left bundle branch block and congestive heart failure episodes. Basically, my EF has gone from "hospice qualified" to "normal."
You are a Godsent!!! Wow. Congratulations!! This is exactly what I need to hear!! Are you wearing any of the devices?? .......pacemaker and all that???
Definitely
I started walking at least a mile every other day and it went from 30-34% in August to 40% in December. I was wearing a defibrillator vest but no more. Starting Cardiac Rehab next week. Had a CABG in 2021 but couldn’t do Rehab due to 5 infections that lasted almost a year with the CABG wound open for over six months. I’m committed to upping my Ejection Fraction
I have had a pacemaker since 2015, Am now in a stage referred to as "pacemaker dependent". Anyway, with the "dilated cardiomyopathy" had an EF of 29%. But I keep as fit as possible, eat sensibly and watch the weight, take all the medication correctly, and at the last check up, heart is in better shape and the EF is now 45%.
So my advice to anyone - need to just stay positive
How Many BPM Should Your Heart Rate Raise For Exercise To Be Effective? Since My EF Went Up A Little It Is Harder To Get It Raised.
