I Have Had Really Bad Edema In My Feet Ankles And Lower Legs For Almost A Month And I Don't Know What Is Going On. It Is So Painful.
Please go see your doctor. He may put you on a diuretic. Edema is a sign that may be something wrong with your heart.
I have lymphedema with symptoms same as you describe. It is caused by heart not working properly and you need to get rid of that extra fluid. Iām to wear compression stockings all the time. I hate them but they certainly help. See your doctor for a decisive diagnosis. This condition is really uncomfortable and painful when you wait too long. Good luck, see your doc.
Typically edema in feet and ankles are because your heart is working to hard and not strong enough to keep your blood circulation steady. Water seaps from your cells and causes swelling in the lower extremities. Can become painful as pressure and swelling build up. Diuretics help remove that excess water accumulate and pass it from your body by urination.very frequent urination. Say every half hour for 6-8 hours depending on dosage. Salt is another contributing factor. As it makes you retain fluid. Your cardiologist should be able to treat the edema and determine it's underlying cause.
You need to see a doctor immediately! You could go into heart failure or respiratory failure due to retaining fluid.
This requires a visit to you doctor or cardiologist.
