Could You Share Any Dietary Changes And Tips That Have Helped With Heart Disease?
I changed to the fruits and veggies that I like. I stopped eating all the processed foods I used to eat. I stopped soda, energy drinks, sweets. I eat chicken, fish, occasionally I will eat red meat but I’m getting used to trading it out for poultry. I have cut out most fats. Basically for me I only shop on the outside aisles of the grocery store.
It has been a difficult change that I struggle each day with but after 4 months I have dropped my cholesterol numbers more than half. I can see the results so I will keep up with it. I am down 23 lbs. I feel so much better.
I survived a 100% widow maker blockage. I have been given a second chance to live. I will stick with eating healthy.
Good evening,
I eat alot of vegetables, lean meat and fish. Also I got this cookbook from Barnes and Noble named, " The New American Heart Association Cookbook". It has some real good recipes.
No caffeine, no soda, no desserts high in sugar, low salt, no processed food. No vegetable oil. I use salad dressings that are olive oil based or avocado based. I limit pasta and starch.
Cut back on eating after 6.00 pm....drinking plenty of water...more fruits and vegetables....in diet....watching salt...everything in moderation...
Watch your salt. It is in everything. I follow the Mediterranean and DASH Diet. No processed foods, junk food or dairy.
