Major Weight Gain Over Weekend. What Could Be The Causes.

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Uxbridge, MA

I’ve got a diagnosis of atrial flutter, congestive heart failure, and unspecified cardiomyopathy. I had an abulation (sp) back in August. I’ve been doing well since then, until today. Gained 4.5 pounds over the weekend. Could this be all water retention?

Since you have heart failure, I would assume that it is fluid retention that is causing the weight gain. Watch your salt intake and be sure you are taking your medication. If you are doing all of that then it is time to reach out to the doctor. Hugs🤗
