Heck Yes I vote! I’ve voted in every local…state…and Federal Election since I first voted by mail in ballot in 1976 the year I turned 18! My Mom almost threatened to write my party affiliation on my birth certificate! LOL

What to do is a good question. I don’t know much about the options but will soon. About 3 or 4 years ago I accepted an offer for an Advantage plan from Kaiser. I had prior experience with them. That week I discovered I would need to change doctors and travel over 30 minutes to Baltimore or DC for care. I decided to stay with my provider. The next choice was during my heart issues so I chose to stay put.

This year we went with United Advantage plan. This could. Save my wife and I over $3500 per year plus additional benefits. This could be the problem! Where does the money come from to cover this difference? Should providers absorb the loss? Can they afford to and provide the same level of service?

Advantage plans are very popular. I understand over 50% of Medicare patients are on these plans with more coming every year. A very powerful constituency that do vote. There is enormous extra profit in prescription drugs. The US pays far more for medical care than every other “civilized modern nation.” There is more than enough money to cover this difference if we begin to manage our system as well as other nations. Are we really the best, most powerful nation? Can we do what all other industrialized nations have already done? This will help everyone including employers. Imagine being able to change jobs without worrying about healthcare.

Do you vote?

That's odd...I have Aetna and they increased some of my benefits.

I have a Humana Advantage Plan and this makes me sick to my Stomach! I have not paid one red cent since I turned 65 for healthcare except on two occasions when I chose providers who didn’t accept my Medicaid!
