@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member This is a hard decision to make and I wish so much you did not need to make it. It all depends on how badly you feel and if you are willing to put yourself through all of this. Can they do just the valve and not the Maze? I am not sure I would want to put myself through this either but I think I am a bit older than you are now. However, if they just do the valve would that give you a better quality of life? It all depends on how bad the Afib is. We are here for you and I will stand behind you no matter what decision you make. Sending prayers your way for strength to make this life-changing decision. Maybe ask this as a question to the group. There must be someone who can give you a little insight. Love you ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

A suggestion is to read all of this article and ask your cardiologist/electrophysiologist any questions or concerns you have. It appears there are other benefits to the Maze procedure including lowering the risk of strokes. Of course, you have to make the final decision, but if itโ€™s going to make you feel better and reduce stroke risk, then why not?

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member Thanks so much for the work you did for the hurricane victims. I have been there and I know how hard it is to get back on your feet again. This time my area was spared except for flooding. I hope this helps you feel a bit better and that you had a good weekend. Hugs๐Ÿค—
