@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member,
Stay away from these nutritionist, they are no more then the latest fad in quick education and those diets are unstable. For one I've never eaten the skin of chicken. I only eat the breast of chicken and never the skin. I Willett the breading off of fried chicken but never the skin. I eat no animal fat other then the strip in bacon that have been cooked crisp, I'm funny that way. You need to find a real board certified dietitian. Or take a class from your local health department.
For one brown rice is a digestive irritation to most people and shouldn't be eaten daily. These nutritionist give you the diets of a third world country where lifestyles are as large an en extreme as the diet. You're not willing to change that much and diet alone won't. Most of those diet leave you malnourished. Diets aren't just food but a lifestyle change.
I just had a third do not drive order placed on me. And even doctors don't fully read a patient's chart, they look at now but never check last. Those that checked me in read more of my chart then the doctor that treated me because had she read my chart she would have know I have syncope as well as diabetes insipidus which dose not mean I'm a diabetic but that i have a metabolism problem. I was seen by a dietitian in the hospital and was told that animal protection is the only complete protein and my heart needs it. Your heart is a muscle and needs meat.
I wasn't given a survival rate, I made it out of the hospital 3 and a half days later, when I saw my cardiologist he told me the second time that my survival rate was 3 year with out a transplant. I' still a listed transplant candidate and I saw my 14th Heartiversary 12/2/2024.
I weighed 108 when I had my AMI/ STEMI and weigh 106 now. But I walk a lot, I'm not allow to drive and I lot of buses and the train leave me a good distance at times. My bus came 10 minutes and didn't stop, so I walked because the next wouldn't arrive until after my appointment.

If you've lost significant weight and need to focus on heart-healthy foods to regain strength, consider nutrient-dense options. Include lean proteins like skinless chicken, fish, tofu, or eggs. Add healthy fats from avocados, nuts, and olive oil. Incorporate whole grains like brown rice and quinoa, and eat plenty of fruits Show Full Answer
