I have a Medtronic A-ICD and it does alot more then the devices he decussed. I am totally automated I go in once a year as my heart hospital now have all of the tracking systems on line.. it is a pacemaker, defibrillator, CRTD, it has an anticoagulant ability, ECG, GPS, it sends alerts to the hospital. There are 12 features in total. I love the freedom of only going in once a year and not every three months. Lately I've been getting a report once a month that my electrophysiologist cardiologist has been making adjustments to my device. They take EKGsin office and I nolonger have to be wired with 12 leads.
I love it because I'm not going to the hospital every two or three months and because of what it does I've yet to feel the kick of my defibrillator. My cardiologist said he had it set for a full minute of it stopping before it will fire because it would burn my heart out very quickly. I love my device.

I have a pacemaker also. Mine is the one with the three leads because I have heart failure. Amazing what devices are available to regulate and prolong our lives. I just had another device implanted called the Cardiomems which monitors the pressure in my heart caused by heart failure. Thank God for technology!
