Cardiac cephalalgia is a severe headache that is a symptom of ischemic heart disease — a common type of heart disease that is caused by narrowing of the major heart muscle arteries, or coronary stenosis.

Severe Headache Expert reports that this condition is fairly rare; many cardiologists have not seen even one case of cardiac cephalalgia in their practices.

Thank-you to everyone who was kind enough to reply to my question. I'm not sure that the headaches are severe, exactly, but they do come after I work out and always at night. Also, the one time I was given a nitro spray I had the worst migraine I have ever had, and I've had many. I guess the best thing to do is to write everything down and talk to my cardiologist whenever I can get an appointment. Thanks, again.

I’d deffo say yes. I have unstable angina and always get a thumping headache just before an attack. But I’ve found taking my GTN spray helps the angina but makes the headache worse.
