Triple bypass 2016. Heart pain. Ekg done. Nothing abnormal. What are my next steps? It seems no one really cares. When setting an appointment its set for two three weeks out. Wish I knew what to do. Thank you for listening!

There are many things that can cause chest pain that is not heart related. If your vital signs are normal and there is no fever you are most likely not going to be a high priority with this virus taking so many resources. If the pain is bad there is one way to get some immediate help and that is to have someone take you to the local fire station where thay can begin treatment to address your symptoms. I have yet to see a line of people trying to get help where emergency rooms are triage there patience. Hope you can get some answers quick.

In 2013 I went to the ER with chest pain. Normal EKG. They admitted me because of family history. The next day a catherization showed a 90% blockage in my LAD. Same thing happened the next year - perfect EKG - 90% blockage in circumflex. In 2017 another trip to the ER and another normal EKG - the next week I was having triple bypass to repair a 99, 70, and 60!!! EKGs don’t always tell the story. Be persistent!! If you’re still hurting go back!!! If you have a history of heart problems they need to listen!!!

If you are experiencing heart pain on and off and an EKG at the emergency room did not reveal any issues, there are several next steps that can be taken to further investigate the cause:

1. Holter Monitor: This is a portable EKG device worn for 24 to 72 hours to continuously monitor your heart's activity over a longer period.
2. Event Monitor: Similar to a Holter monitor, but it records only when triggered by symptoms and can be worn for up to 30 days.
3. Imaging Tests: These include:
- Echocardiogram: Uses ultrasound to visualize the heart's structure and function.
- CT Scan: Provides detailed images of the heart.
- MRI: Offers a comprehensive view of the heart's structure and function.
4. Physical Exam: Your doctor may perform a thorough physical examination, including listening to your heart and lungs, checking your blood pressure, and asking about your symptoms.

These steps can help diagnose or rule out various heart conditions. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
