Sleep Issues With Mechanical Valve?

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Baden, PA

I am pretty sure that I have read somewhere that it is not uncommon to have some sleepless nights with a mechanical valve. I have been finding that is the case for me. If anyone out there has had experience with that could you please share what type of symptoms give you trouble at night? Still struggling with knowing what type of symptoms are normal to experience at this point, especially since i will be going on 2 years since my surgery in a couple of months. Thanks!

Good Morning Anna Marie🌻
I too have an aortic valve😆it is a little distracting! Background noise really helps me! A fan, listening to sea scapes or rain sounds, without thunder of course! I was wondering if you had done a sleep study? If you keep struggling you might need to have one! Sometimes we stop breathing during a deep sleep cycle and have to be on a Cpap machine...Fortunately most insurance will cover the costs..
God Bless

I had a pacemaker for 10 years if anything I think it saved my life I fainted driving the car not good nope.. I say to my Mom "Oh I am fainting, I hit the steering well and my Mom is screaming at me. Ionny was in his car seat he was baby. I was nuts having four boys. Talk about wild ride.. But they are married and happy in life. That gives me happy.. Except my one son he is not married and I lost my son Lars he died in 2010. He had special needs. But I threw out my pacemakers I just forget that time. i was so tired so much. I don't know how functioned. I was heavy not good. Depressed and everything else. But it did save my life the Pacemaker. And I wonderful Doctor I loved him too..
