Should All Blocked Heart Arteries Be Fixed?

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Roswell, GA

If you think all heart artery blockages should be fixed, you’re not alone. For years, cardiologists also thought if we can open a blocked artery with a stent or a balloon, we should. It makes sense, but in some cases, it’s wrong. Doctor Todd Hurst explains.

Thanks for sharing Caryn. I know while I was in Florida one cardiologist was in gun ho to fix a leaky valve. He made it sound it was severe. But I changed to another and said I did not need the surgery. Then when I got by Pennsylvania my cardiologist said he was glad I changed to another cardiologist. I feel the that for cardiologist in Florida was that he was out for the money instead of the patient. They just only want the money so they can live high off the hog.

I will research this later. I called cardiologist earlier to ask what do I do for water I have bouncing around behind my heart, left question with answering service for a call back from nurse. So far no call. If it weren't for Jesus I wouldn't be around.

Technology has dramatically changed since I had my heart surgery 14 years ago. I was lucky to have the Head of the Coronary unit, the guy who teaches young heart surgeon do my CABs. He said I was a "Tough one to fix." Did mine in the training Op Room. He happen to be my Nieces grandfather to her kids. I presented him with an Honery Flight Medic Badge, Flight patch and a photo of me with the police helicopter I flew in. So yes I believe the should be repaired and fixed.

@A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member, Thanks glad you liked the video. I totally agree, every decision has to be made on an individual basis with you and your spouse. Your doctor knows your situation better than anyone and a doctor you can trust is a MUST! Hugs 🤗

I finally got a response, almost as soon as I posted my comments. It was my fault for ingesting to much sodium over the weekend. Especially Sunday. So now my blood pressure is 120/82. I hate feeling the water by my heart. That disappeared after about 5 hours of work, walking back , and forth, and lifting items. So thank you all for caring. I will continue to watch my sodium intake, and stick to low sodium diet. Have a great week.
