I think it was Gene McCarthy that said politics is a lot like football. You have to be smart enough to play and dumb enough to think it important. I’ve been involved in competitive football and political campaigns. Sports are more civil.

I can think of 100 good reasons to Vote Blue…but I’m trying to keep my political views separate from my heart disease!

I won’t participate in a mudslinging political discussion. I do find social security, Medicare and Medicare policy changes of interest to our group. The link is to a conservative policy statement and speaks for itself. Way too much social and mainstream media focus on everything but facts needed for informed decision.

And if necessary I’d rather be involved in a heated fact based discussion before an election than after benefits are cut or eliminated.

I ask that everyone respect each others views. Let's remember this is a safe space for all of us no matter what our political leanings. If you wish to discuss politics or express your views, I ask that you do it elsewhere. Thank you so much for respecting this space and keeping it supportive, non-judgmental, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
