What Are The Risks Of Cardiac Ablation? For Those Who Have Had The Procedure, What Are Their Experiences After An Ablation?

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Toronto, ON

I am scheduled for an @ablation soon. I've had no arrhythmia since taking medications (@xarelto and sotalol). I was hospitalized twice last fall, one with cardiac inversion. I've had two cardiac inversions. One over 20 years ago and the one last fall. Does Afib Continue After Having An Ablation?

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Clear Lake, IA

I have Afib and had an ablation in 2018. I had a heart attack also in 2017 and had a stent put in and a pacemaker. I am wondering what I should do for the continued episodes of Afib I still have. I called my heart doctor and he says there isn't much else that can be done. I am just curious if others have had this happen and have any advice for slowing these heart palpitations that happen at least once a day and can last for a couple of hours.

A MyHeartDiseaseTeam Member asked a question 💭
Westminster, MD

“Among patients with device-detected AF (no symptoms; detected by a watch or other device), stroke risk is lower than that of patients with symptomatic AF. The recommendations for device-detected AF vary by duration of AF as well as by CHA2DS2-VASc score. See the guidelines if you are interested in more information on this fascinating topic.“
